2007-2008 Youth Calendar

Holy Trinity youth stay busy throughout the year! There is a lot happening in our Youth Ministry, including:

  • The annual Shrimp Boil and Entertainment Revue, when the youth join with the Brotherhood of St. Andrew to host a night of fun!

  • The annual retreat for all HTP youth at Camp Mikell

  • Diocesan retreats at Camp Mikell, and other diocesan events

  • An assortment of outreach projects such as providing dinner at Hagar's House, the Hunger Walk, and a Christmas outreach project

  • Intergenerational Activities when all classes of all ages join to celebrate and learn together

  • Other ministries emerge as interests and needs are made known; such as the Honduras Mission Trip

  • Baptism Workshops: Offered prior to scheduled dates for Baptism. We explore the Baptismal Covenant and rehearse the ceremony. For baptismal candidates, parents and godparents. These are generally held the Saturday morning before the baptism date.

  • Eucharistic Workshops: These are offered once each year for pre-kindergarten or elementary school children and their families. We bake and break bread together, exploring the meaning of the bread and wine and what it means to share this meal as a family.

  • TGIS - Thank God it's Sunday.  A series of casual dinners and short programs for youth in grades 6-12, generally held on the third Sunday of each month from 4:30-6:00pm.
  • Youth Fundraisers - These activities support the J2A Urban Adventure and Pilgrimage; included are the annual yard sale, car washes, bake sales, various themed dinners, the annual Chili Cook-Off, and more.
  • HSLRG- (High school life reflection group) is a group of high school age youth that meet twice a month on Tuesdays from 8 -9 p.m.  The theme that drives the group discussions is "How to be a Good Witness Amidst Temptation."   We will look at Bible passages and other resources together and try to gain a greater understanding of how to deal with the difficulties of being a teenager.
